Is Manwich Gluten Free?

Manwich is mainly a sauce made of tomato puree and a few other ingredients. No ingredient used in the sloppy sauce recipe is derived from gluten grains, meaning Manwich should be gluten free, right?

But the answer isn’t that straightforward. Manwich is sloppy joe sauce by the brand ConAgra, and it divides its products into three categories-

  • Gluten free
  • Non Gluten free
  • Food without any gluten substance but have not been tested yet.

Manchich falls under the third category of product, meaning Manwich has no gluten ingredient like wheat, barley, malt, etc., but it has not gone under the test to validate it.

Therefore, whether you want to eat Manwich or not depends on your gluten tolerance level. If you have celiac disease, it’s better to avoid Manwich, and if you are not highly gluten sensitive, you may try tasting the sauce.

Is Manwich Healthy?

Manwich is a quick tomato based sauce introduced to make your sloppy joe dishes less time consuming. We use it to marinate meat to make it more flavorful and juicy. But is Manwich healthy? How often can you have Manwich?

Manwich is somewhat healthier than other sauces in a similar category. The general Manwich is low in carbohydrates and sugar, but the sauce’s sodium content is very high. But, the other flavors are high in sugar and carbs as well.

Moreover, Manwich is very high in fat, and when you add it to other food items, the fat content goes even higher. Again the additives and flavors used in Manwich do not make it a guilt free food to consume every day.
